Enjoy the grind

When it comes to your training and fitness, you should create goals and aspirations. As legendary motivator Tony Robbins put’s it “Setting goals is the first step into turning the invisible, into the visible.” With those goals, we often over-exaggerate what we can do in 1 year, and undervalue what we can do in 10 years. By that, we are being impatient and not giving ourselves the opportunity to reach our full potential. You must enjoy the grind.

Coming into the gym, and going through your daily workout isn’t always easy…and especially when you are seeking immediate results and changes to your body. Some times, for a wide range of reasons, the results don’t appear…With that, can come disappointment, negative self-talk, and a lack of enjoyment.

You all know the saying “good things take time”…and with fitness, this is absolutely the case.

To break the cycle, and keep the enjoyment there, you must enjoy the grind.

What is the grind?

The grind is the work, the day-to-day effort that you are putting in.

The grind can be:

  • Early morning wake-ups
  • Diet
  • Leg day

The grind is whatever you consider being part of the training / overall approach to reaching your goals.

Working out, and training doesn’t need to be all serious, head down, good session / bad session…don’t chase the end result or get down on your weight, your physical fitness, comparisons to others…The list of negative self-talk goes on. Instead, focus on the journey…enjoy the grind. You got this, you are putting in the work to be a better version of yourself.

So why not enjoy it?
